    • WASH YOUR GEAR AFTER EVERY CLASS.

    • NO BAREFEET ON THE CONCRETE AT ANY TIME. KEEP YOUR SHOES RIGHT NEXT TO THE MAT. STEP RIGHT INTO/OUT OF THEM.

    • KEEP YOUR FINGERNAILS AND TOENAILS TRIMMED AND CLEAN.

    • OFFENSIVE BODY ODOR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

    • PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR BODY AND YOUR GEAR ARE CLEAN.

    • CHECK THAT YOUR FEET ARE CLEAN BEFORE GETTING ON THE MAT.

    • IF YOU HAVE ANY TYPE OF SKIN INFECTION, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TRAIN.

    • IF YOU GET CUT DURING TRAINING, PLEASE CLEAN AND COVER THE WOUND BEFORE CONTINUING TO TRAIN.

    • WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHOWERING DIRECTLY AFTER CLASS AS THIS HAS BEEN SHOWN TO GREATLY REDUCE THE RISK OF A SKIN INFECTION.

    • TYPICAL ATTIRE FOR MEN IS A RASHGUARD AND A PAIR OF MMA SHORTS. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THOSE, YOU CAN WEAR A FORM FITTING TSHIRT AND A PAIR OF ATHLETIC SHORTS.

    • FOR WOMEN, A RASHGUARD AND LEGGINGS ARE THE USUAL ATTIRE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A RASHGUARD, WEAR A FORM FITTED T-SHIRT. NO TANK TOPS, LOW CUT TOPS, CROP TOPS, STRAPPY TOPS, OR LOOSE-FITTING TOPS ARE PERMITTED.

    • AS YOU MIGHT EXPECT, YOU WILL GET SWEATY IN THE GYM WHEN DRILLING AND ROLLING, AND SOME TSHIRTS AND SHORTS/LEGGINGS TEND TO GET SEE THROUGH WHEN WET. PLEASE WEAR UNDERGARMENTS WHEN TRAINING.

    • MAKE SURE YOUR CLOTHING DOES NOT HAVE POCKETS, ZIPPERS, SNAPS, OR OTHER METALS TO AVOID HURTING YOUR TRAINING PARTNERS AND DAMAGING THE MATS.

    • BRING FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS TO KEEP MATSIDE.

    • REMOVE ALL JEWELRY PRIOR TO CLASS. RINGS, EARRINGS, BRACELETS, AND NECKLACES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO OUR MATS AND ALSO TO YOUR TRAINING PARTNERS.

    • REMOVE SHOES AND SOCKS BEFORE STEPPING ON THE MAT. KEEP YOUR SHOES BESIDE THE MAT SO THAT YOU CAN STEP DIRECTLY INTO THEM WHEN LEAVING THE MAT. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM STEPPING ONTO THE CONCRETE BAREFOOT AND THEN BACK ONTO THE MATS. SHOES ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES WHEN YOU ARE OFF THE MAT, ESPECIALLY IN THE BATHROOM.

    • PLEASE COME TO CLASS WITH A POSITIVE ATTITUDE. JIU JITSU IS A GREAT WAY TO RELIEVE THE STRESS OF YOUR DAY AND BLOW OFF STEAM, BUT PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OUT YOUR FRUSTRATIONS ON YOUR TRAINING PARTNERS OR YOUR INSTRUCTORS.

    • IF YOU ARE LATE FOR CLASS, PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL TO THE INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENTS THAT ARE ALREADY AT CLASS. COME IN QUIETLY AND QUICKLY JOIN THE CLASS.

    • PARTICIPATION IN THE CLASS REQUIRES THAT YOU ARE INVOLVED IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE CLASS, INCLUDING WARM-UPS, DRILLING, AND LIVE TRAINING. IF YOU ARE INJURED AND CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN A PORTION OF THE CLASS, PLEASE SPEAK WITH YOUR INSTRUCTOR BEFOREHAND.

    • WE UNDERSTAND THAT A LOT OF OUR STUDENTS ARE PARENTS AND MUST SOMETIMES BRING THEIR CHILDREN TO THE GYM. IF A CHILD IS BROUGHT TO THE GYM DURING AN ADULT CLASS, PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY ARE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES. RUNNING AROUND, PLAYING LOUDLY, OR CLIMBING ON EQUIPMENT ARE NOT PERMITTED. THE OTHER MAT SPACES IN THE GYM, EVEN WHEN NOT BEING USED FOR A CLASS, CANNOT BE USED AS A PLAY AREA.

    • TALKING ON THE CHAIRS DURING THE TEACHING PORTION OF THE CLASS SHOULD BE DONE AT A LOW VOLUME AND KEPT TO A MINIMUM.

    • WHILE WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO STUDY WITH YOUR PARTNERS AND SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TEACHING OR INSTRUCTING OTHER STUDENTS UNLESS YOU HAVE ANDREW'S PERMISSION TO DO SO.

    • PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF BOTH ON AND OFF THE MAT. BOTTLES AND CANS SHOULD BE PLACED IN THE RECYCLE BIN AND ALL OTHER GARBAGE SHOULD GO IN THE TRASH CAN.

    • DO NOT LEAVE FINGER TAPE, DEFENSE WIPES, OR ARTICLES OF CLOTHING AROUND THE MATS OR ON THE CHAIRS.

  • WHILE WE UNDERSTAND THAT KIDS HAVE A LOT OF ENERGY AND THE GYM IS A GREAT PLACE TO RELEASE IT, THERE ARE SOME GENERAL BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES THAT ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ADHERE TO.

    • DURING THE PERIODS OF TIME WHERE TECHNIQUE IS BEING SHOWN, THE STUDENTS WILL BE SITTING ON THE WALL AND WATCHING. THE MOVES WILL BE SHOWN SEVERAL TIME AND ADDITIONAL HELP WILL BE GIVEN TO ALL STUDENTS AS THEY ARE LEARNING THE TECHNIQUE.

    • DURING THE DRILLING/ROLLING PORTIONS OF THE CLASS, STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO STAY WITH THEIR PARTNER AND NOT RUN AROUND THE MAT. THIS IS IMPORTANT AS IT IS NOT SAFE FOR THEM TO RUN AROUND WHILE OTHER STUDENTS ARE DRILLING OR ROLLING.

    • WE UNDERSTAND THAT KIDS DO NOT HAVE THE SAME CAPACITY FOR SITTING STILL AND FOCUSING ON ADULTS TALKING THE WAY THAT THE ADULT STUDENTS DO, AND OUR FIRST OPTION IS ALWAYS TO HELP THE KIDS LEARN IN THE BEST WAY THEY CAN, NOT TO SEND THEM OUT OF CLASS, BUT IF ATTEMPTS BY THE COACHES HAVE BEEN MADE TO KEEP THE STUDENT UNDER CONTROL AND THEY CONTINUE TO BE A DISRUPTION TO THE CLASS, THEY WILL HAVE TO SIT OUT FOR THE REST OF HOUR.

    • PURPOSEFULLY HURTING OR GOING TOO ROUGH WITH ANOTHER STUDENT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL RESULT IN THE STUDENT NOT BEING ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE REST OF CLASS.

    • PARENTS ARE DISCOURAGED FROM COACHING/YELLING THINGS OUT TO THEIR CHILDREN DURING THE CLASS. WHILE WE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO HELP THEM, WE FEEL THAT THE KIDS FOCUS BETTER AND UNDERSTAND MORE WHEN THE COACHES ARE INSTRUCTING THEM.
